Precision Mechatronics Laboratory

Welcome to the PML!

We design novel and useful mechatronic systems through the deterministic integration of electromechanics, controls, and electronics.

In developing mechatronic systems, we embrace a design-for-control approach. That is, rather than designing hardware first and control later, we consider control from the outset to design the feedback system as a whole. This enables innovative mechatronic solutions with superior performance, particularly in applications where tightly coupled control and hardware design are essential.

Our research on precision mechatronics drives creative breakthroughs in a variety of industrial applications, including future mobility, robotics, energy conversion, and advanced manufacturing systems.
