Precision Mechatronics Laboratory

Welcome to the PML!

We create novel and useful mechatronic systems through deterministic co-design across mechanical systems, electromechanics, controls, and electronics.

In developing such systems, we embrace a design-for-control approach. Rather than designing hardware first and control later, we consider control from the outset to design the feedback system as a whole. This enables innovative mechatronic solutions with superior performance, particularly in applications where tightly coupled control and hardware design are essential.

Our research in precision mechatronics drives creative breakthroughs in a variety of industry applications, including future mobility, robotics, energy conversion, biomedical, and advanced manufacturing systems.
